TT’s Daily Routine: Managing Stage 2 CKD for 7 Years

When TT was diagnosed with Stage 2 CKD in 2019, few could have imagined that she would still be thriving seven years later. Many caregivers have asked, “How can a cat with CKD live such an active and joyful life?”

The answer lies in consistency. TT’s daily routine has become a framework of steady care, combining supplements, hydration, and balanced meals.

Today, we would like to share what a typical day looks like for TT, and the principles that have kept her stable.

6:00 — Starting the Day

TT wakes up promptly at six, often with a cheerful meow or by gently waking her guardian, Claire. Sometimes she even makes “smacking sounds” when she is in a good mood.

Like many cats, she is most energetic in the early morning and races around the house to greet the day.

8:00 — Morning Supplements and First Meal

TT’s morning begins with the Probiotics Protocol, given on an empty stomach to support gut health and immunity.

  • 08:00: 1 capsule of Probiotics Protocol
  • Breakfast: Royal Canin Indoor (balanced diet instead of a strict renal-only formula)
  • After meal: Dr. Toru Protocol + 40 ml water (with a treat)

For CKD cats, hydration is just as vital as food. Every meal is paired with water to reduce the kidney’s workload.

10:00 — Intensive Protocol

Two hours later, TT receives the Intensive Protocol, accompanied by 40 ml of water given slowly with a syringe.

This combination has been one of the cornerstones of her stable kidney values.

Afterward, she often hops onto her cat wheel again, showing a renewed vitality that once seemed impossible.

Midday — Rest and Small Joys

By late morning, TT settles into her routine of patrolling the house, teasing her younger feline siblings, and taking long naps.

On filming days, she curiously joins the set before returning to her favorite spot for rest.

Sometimes she sits quietly in front of an aquarium video, completely absorbed.

18:00 — Dinner and Cardiovascular Care

Dinner is served with a renal-support diet, followed by supplements for the heart and omega-3.

  • 18:00: Renal prescription foodAfter meal: Heart supplement + Omega-3 (EPA/DHA 100 mg) + 40 ml water with a treat

Because CKD cats are also prone to heart conditions, cardiovascular support has been integrated into TT’s routine.

20:00 — Evening Supplements

After a rest, TT receives another dose of the Dr. Toru Protocol, along with 40 ml of water.

She has adapted so well to her supplement schedule that she now eagerly asks for them herself.

23:00 — A Calm Night with Intensive Calm

The final step of TT’s day is Intensive Calm, paired with 40 ml of water.

This supplement was developed to support relaxation and nighttime recovery, particularly for cats living with CKD, heart disease, or medication-related fatigue.

TT becomes noticeably calmer afterward and often drifts to sleep at the same time as her guardian.

The Core of TT’s Routine

  • Four supplement sessions daily: Probiotics, Dr. Toru Protocol, Intensive, Intensive Calm
  • Hydration after meals: Feeding Assist (lickable treat) + 40 ml of water each time (about 200 ml total per day
  • Balanced nutrition: A mix of renal and standard diets for both stability and vitality

Living Well with CKD

TT is still a cat with CKD. Yet with steady care, her condition has remained stable for seven years. She eats eagerly, runs, plays, and even demands her favorite treats.

CKD is not curable.
But TT’s routine shows that with knowledge, discipline, and love, a cat can live not only longer but also better.

Her story is a reminder to every caregiver that “even when a cure is not possible, a joyful daily life is.”
