Greycoat Research Strengthens Clinical R&D Through Strategic Advisory Partnership in Japan

Partners with Kobayashi Animal Hospital to advance feline kidney health research, clinical insight, and global scientific collaboration

Greycoat Research was recently featured in a media article highlighting its continued investment in research-driven growth and international clinical collaboration in feline kidney health.

Greycoat Research has entered into an advisory partnership with Kobayashi Animal Hospital in Japan to strengthen its clinical and research capabilities in feline chronic kidney disease (CKD).
The collaboration establishes a clinical and research advisory framework that supports the company’s long-term goal of building a more scientifically grounded and globally connected feline care model.

This partnership represents more than a regional collaboration. It reflects Greycoat Research’s broader effort to expand from a product-focused business into a research-driven company that integrates clinical data, structured research, and academic development.

The advisory framework brings together respected Japanese experts, including veterinarian Motoo Kobayashi, who has more than 40 years of clinical experience, and Toshiro Arai, Professor Emeritus at Nippon Veterinary and Life Science University and a recognized authority in lipid metabolism.

Dr. Kobayashi has long emphasized a wellness-centered approach to care, focusing on prevention, early awareness, and long-term nutritional management before disease progresses. As part of this vision, he is also preparing to establish a Wellness Center in Japan to support early detection and sustainable care for companion animals.

Professor Arai, who joins the initiative as an advisor, emphasized the importance of long-term metabolic management in feline kidney disease. He noted that feline renal failure often progresses alongside chronic inflammation and broader metabolic imbalance, and that continuous support through nutrition and lifestyle management plays an essential role in long-term care.

Greycoat Research said the partnership will support the company’s efforts to deepen its research and disease management framework using real-world clinical application data accumulated across more than 30,000 feline clinical application cases.
Based on this foundation, the company plans to further strengthen its capabilities in areas such as genetic-based analysis, stage-specific nutritional design, and mitochondrial function support strategies, while connecting these efforts to academic papers and scientific presentations.

In parallel, Greycoat Research is also advancing its broader research system through collaboration with external specialized institutions, including work related to AIM gene analysis. These efforts are intended to expand the connection between clinical observation, scientific research, and structured disease management models.

Rather than relying on a conventional single-product model, the company is continuing to build a more precise care approach tailored to disease stage, metabolic condition, and long-term nutritional needs.

A Greycoat Research spokesperson stated, “This partnership marks an important step in our evolution into a research-driven company that connects clinical insight, research design, and academic development. By expanding our scientific collaboration network and strengthening our research capabilities, we aim to build more meaningful and globally relevant solutions for feline kidney health.”

Greycoat Research is continuing to strengthen its global network across clinical, research, and distribution channels, with expanding collaboration in markets including Turkey and Japan.
The company also plans to introduce its technologies and care approach at major international exhibitions, including SuperZoo 2026 in the United States and Interpets 2027 in Japan, as it continues to expand its global B2B presence.
