From Ellie’s Guardian
In April 2024, my cat Ellie was diagnosed with Stage 2 CKD.
At first, I was very anxious about what might happen, but with steady care I started to notice small, encouraging changes.
Starting the Routine
- We began with only the Dr. Toru Protocol.
- As her values seemed more stable, I gradually added a full kidney care supplement routine.
- She’s also been on a renal diet, just as our vet advised.
- At first she was taking a probiotic from another brand, but later I switched to a supplement from Greycoat Research.
Lab Values and Condition
📅 April 11, 2024
- Creatinine: 2.01 BUN 35.7
📅September 28, 2024
- Creatinine: 1.37 BUN 30
During this time, Ellie’s values shifted, and her weight stayed stable.
Her appetite picked up, and I noticed her energy returning little by little.
What I Felt as a Guardian
Honestly, I didn’t expect much at the beginning.
But as Ellie started eating better and showing more energy, I felt so much more at ease.
Even our vet noticed the changes, and that really reassured me.
The happiest part for me is simply seeing Ellie eat well and enjoy her days again.
Looking ahead, I just want to keep supporting her so she can stay healthy for as long as possible.
And someday, if future medical options like AIM injection become available, that would give me even more hope.
A Small Lesson
As a guardian, it’s easy to feel impatient and wish for quick results.
But with Ellie, I’ve realized that what matters most is slow, steady progress.
