Your Cat’s Kidney Test Results: What You Might Be Missing

When you get your cat’s blood test results, the creatinine level may be the first number you check. It’s one of the markers used to assess kidney function. Has it gone up or down since the last test?

Our latest study took a closer look at this familiar number alongside other blood test results.

Researchers from South Korea and Japan

On October 2, 2026, our research paper was accepted for publication in Frontiers in Veterinary Science, an international veterinary journal.

The team included researchers from veterinary clinics in South Korea and Japan. Together, we analyzed existing blood test data from 3,006 cats.

Looking Beyond Creatinine Alone

We examined how other blood test results varied across different creatinine levels and how those results related to one another.

By studying patterns across thousands of cats, we aim to better understand each cat’s blood test results.
