From Rocky’s Guardian
Rocky Roo is now 9 years old.
She was diagnosed with Stage 2 chronic kidney disease, but despite the challenges, she continues to enjoy her daily life with steady energy and a good appetite.
When I first learned about her diagnosis, I was determined to do everything possible to keep her comfortable.
Looking back, I’m truly glad that I began a more consistent care routine for her.

Starting the Routine
Rocky’s first consultation with Greycoat Research took place in October 2024.
From that point, I decided to follow a structured care plan that included Dr. Toru Protocol, Intensive Protocol, and Probiotics Protocol, along with a kidney-friendly diet.
For her meals, I mainly feed Hill’s k/d, Royal Canin, and Purina NF Early Care wet food.
I also keep fountains and fresh water throughout the house and give her a pouch of Hydracare daily to help maintain hydration.
Her medication routine is simple — she takes Theophylline for asthma, and her weight has remained steady at 10 lbs throughout her care.
Lab Values and Condition
📅 October 2024
Creatinine: 2.4 BUN: 30
📅 April 2025
Creatinine: 2.1 BUN: 23

Over time, Rocky’s kidney values have stayed within a more stable range.
Her appetite remained good, her weight consistent, and her energy brighter than before.
For us, that steady pattern alone has been a source of relief and encouragement.
What I Felt as a Guardian
Through this journey, I learned that hydration and nutrition truly form the foundation of kidney care.
Making sure she eats well and drinks enough water has become part of our everyday routine.
Seeing Rocky move through her days with calm, stable energy has reminded me that even small steps — when done consistently — can bring peace of mind.
For me, stability itself has become the most meaningful goal.
Looking Ahead
Rocky continues to enjoy her daily meals, her favorite spots in the sun, and moments of quiet affection.
My hope is to keep supporting her gently, with the same care and patience, one day at a time.
