Cat Health Information Policy

Last updated October 7, 2026

Greycoat Research, Inc. (the “Company”) provides health management services to help people better understand and manage cats’ health.

In this Policy, “User” means a cat’s guardian who enters information or provides materials about a cat through the Company’s website or services. The term “cat” refers to the cat that is the subject of the information a User provides to the Company.

When using the services, Users may enter or upload general information about their cats, photos, health information, test results, and veterinary records.

The Company handles Users’ personal information separately from information about their cats. Information that identifies Users is separated from and removed from cat-related information, as described in this Policy.

Personal information, including Users’ names, contact details, email addresses, addresses, account information, and payment information, is handled under the separate Privacy Policy.

This Policy explains how the Company processes and uses information that Users provide about their cats.

1. Cat Health Information

In this Policy, “cat health information” means all information about a cat that a User enters or uploads through the Company’s systems or otherwise provides to the Company.

This includes general information, health-related information, and the records and materials containing that information. It is not limited to particular types of information or formats.

However, personal information about Users or other individuals included in these records or materials is handled separately from cat health information. The handling of this personal information is described in this Policy and the separate Privacy Policy.

2. Separating Users’ Personal Information from Cat Information

The Company manages Users’ personal information separately from information about cats.

Materials provided by a User may contain information that directly or indirectly identifies the User or another individual. The Company removes all such identifying information from materials used for purposes such as research, analysis, service and product development, content creation, and marketing. Only information about cats is used for these purposes.

However, personal information needed to provide services or keep related records, including for account management, orders, payments, shipping, and customer support, is managed separately. Its collection, use, retention, and deletion are governed by the separate Privacy Policy.

3. Processing Uploaded and Original Materials

Materials provided by Users include all cat-related materials, such as uploaded documents and photos, as well as information Users enter directly during consultations or through the Company’s systems.

The Company may review, extract, and organize information about cats from these materials. It may use optical character recognition (OCR) or other information-processing technologies to read and process documents. The processed records contain only the information extracted about cats.

Processed cat information does not include direct identifiers, such as the name of a User or another individual. Personal information necessary for service provision, such as information linking the processed cat information to an account, is managed separately and handled in accordance with Section 2 and the separate Privacy Policy.

Only designated personnel who have completed training on the Privacy Policy and have been granted access as needed for their work may access User-provided materials and materials produced by processing them.

Original materials uploaded by Users are stored separately from the service systems and are subject to access restrictions.

Users may request deletion of the original materials they uploaded. The Company handles these requests in accordance with its procedures.

4. Use of Cat Health Information

The Company may use cat health information provided by Users for the following purposes.

4-1. Health Management for Individual Cats

The Company uses cat health information to understand each cat’s health status and support its health management.

This includes organizing and analyzing veterinary records and test results, comparing past and current test results, and tracking changes in health. It also includes providing information on diet, nutrition, and daily health management, answering Users’ questions, and providing follow-up consultations.

To support ongoing health management, the Company may analyze information collected over time about the same cat together with newly provided information.

4-2. Research

The Company uses cat health information for research to better understand diseases and changes in cats’ health and to find better ways to manage their health.

This includes research into how diseases develop and progress, how test results relate to symptoms, and changes in appetite, energy levels, weight, and other aspects of health. It also includes research into how diet, nutrition, medication, and daily care relate to health changes, methods for early disease detection and management, and the development of health management guidelines.

An important research goal is to better understand chronic diseases in cats, including chronic kidney disease (CKD), and to identify information that can help address the health problems these cats face.

4-3. Service, Product, and Technology Development

The Company uses cat health information to develop new services, products, and technologies or to improve existing ones.

This includes developing features that analyze health information and detect changes in health, as well as creating and improving datasets for research and analysis. It also includes developing, training, testing, evaluating, and improving artificial intelligence (AI) models and algorithms, researching and developing cat health products, and improving the accuracy and quality of services.

4-4. Academic and Statistical Uses

The Company may use cat health information for statistical analyses and studies of disease patterns and distribution, also known as epidemiological analyses. It may use or publish the information and analysis results for academic and educational purposes.

This includes preparing and publishing academic papers, case reports, conference presentations, research reports, statistical materials, and educational materials for veterinarians and related professionals.

The Company may conduct joint research and analyses with partners such as universities, research institutions, veterinarians, and researchers.

4-5. Marketing

The Company may use cat health information in content creation, promotion, and marketing to share examples of cat health management, research findings, and information about its products or services.

The information used may include a cat’s name, photos and videos, general information, diseases, test results, health status and changes over time, and information about diet, nutrition, medication, and other aspects of health management. It may also include observations made during use of the Company’s products or services.

However, before using materials such as photos or videos for content creation, promotion, or marketing, the Company will explain the purpose and scope of the proposed use to the User and obtain separate consent for that use. The Company will use the materials only within the scope of that consent.

5. Information Retention

A cat’s health may change over time. Past health information can be important for understanding the cat’s later health status and for studying diseases in cats.

The Company may retain cat information to the extent needed for the purposes described in this Policy, including service provision, research, analysis, and product and service development.

Original veterinary records and documents uploaded by Users are managed separately and deleted at the User’s request in accordance with the Company’s procedures.

6. Correction and Deletion of Cat Information

Users may request that the cat information they provided be corrected or deleted.

Requests can be sent to support@greycoatresearch.com.

The Company reviews the request and how the information is stored, then handles the request in accordance with its procedures.

Users may request deletion of original documents they uploaded.

However, it may be difficult to delete or recall information that was already incorporated into any of the following before the deletion request:

  • Statistical materials created by combining information about multiple cats
  • Completed research or analysis results
  • Published research results
  • Published papers or academic materials
  • Public content that has already been created and distributed
  • Results already incorporated into data analysis or model improvements

After receiving a deletion request, the Company takes the necessary steps to prevent further use of the original information covered by the request for new purposes.

7. Information Security

The Company applies the safeguards needed to protect cat health information and materials submitted by Users.

In particular, it restricts access to original materials that may contain Users’ personal information and manages those materials separately from its regular online data systems.

It is also the Company’s policy to separate or remove personal information that identifies Users when using processed cat information.

8. Users’ Personal Information

Personal information about Users as individuals includes their names, contact details, email addresses, addresses, account information, order and payment information, and website usage information. The collection, use, retention, and deletion of this personal information are governed by the separate Privacy Policy.

This Policy does not replace the Privacy Policy. It separately explains how information about cats is processed.

9. Changes to This Policy

The Company may update this Policy when its services, research, or handling of cat information changes.

If there are significant changes, the Company will provide notice through its website or other channels and update the “Last updated” date in this Policy.

10. A Note of Thanks

Greycoat Research sincerely thanks all Users who have generously shared their cats’ health information to support cat health research and other guardians caring for cats with chronic diseases.

Building on the valuable records and experiences you have shared, we will continue our research to help more cats and their guardians.
